This ultra-fast telephoto, a new member of Canon legendary L-series lenses, has totally new optics to provide better image quality. It uses fluorite and UD lens elements for excellent chromatic aberration correction and consists of 17 elements in 12 groups. The built-in Optical Image Stabilizer gives it up to 4 stops of stabilization correction. The inner USM and optimized AF algorithms result in fast and quiet autofocusing, and the circular aperture can even produce beautiful out-of-focus images. This ultra-high-performance lens also improves its durability – better dust- and water-proofing. The Canon EF 200 mm f 2.0 L is outstanding for many available-light applications, including indoor sports, theater work, fashion, and candids at events.

This Canon EF 200 mm f 2.0 L lens uses fluorite and UD lens elements for excellent chromatic aberration correction and overall sharpness from corner to corner within the frame. Manual focus override allows for precise manual focus, even in autofocus mode and an AF stop button pauses the AF function when pushed. Focus preset enables you to focus instantly at a preset distance and the focus distance limiter minimizes autofocus speeds based on the distance of your subject. A dedicated lens hood, a detachable tripod collar and a hard case are supplied with the lens.

Automatic panning detection automatically turns off the Image Stabilizer in either the horizontal or vertical direction when following moving subjects. Tripod detection automatically improves the functionality of the Image Stabilizer when shooting on a tripod.

Canon’s ring USM auto focus system employs ultra-sonic frequency vibrations for fast, accurate and virtually silent operation with excellent positioning control. Full-time manual focus, via a large ring that does not rotate during auto focus, allows photographers to begin fine-tuning a shot instantly. Also included is focus preset, already found on the Canon EF 200 mm f 2.0 L, which allows selection and storage of a specific focus position, for instant recall when required.
