Canon 10X42

The Canon 10×42 is outfitted with their proprietary Vari-Angle prism electronic image stabilization system, the Canon 10X42 L IS Waterproof Binoculars is an ideal optic for bird and nature watching, marine use, or astronomical use.

Its quick-response time and ±8.5° correction angle easily compensate for the common hand-shake that can make viewing through binoculars of this magnification difficult or disorientating.

A single-activation button located precisely where the right forefinger naturally rests makes using them easy, and an optional 5-minute activation mode allows you to concentrate on viewing without distractions.

Canon 10X42

For increased usage, the Canon 10X42 L IS will work as a full-featured binocular when the image stabilization is not being used – even if the batteries are dead or removed. Optically, it is built with ultra-low dispersion (UD) glass elements and matching doublet field-flatteners, with their Super Spectra anti-reflection coatings to produce bright and clear high-contrast images without distortion across the entire wide field of view. Protecting the optics and electronics is an armoured chassis that benefits from ergonomically-designed grips, and a standard 1/4″-20 tripod mount socket for an even steadier view.

Tethered front and rear lens caps, right-eye dioptric correction, twist-up eyecups, front filter threads, and a wide interpupillary adjustment range rounds out the features of this binocular that will become your go-to optic for any outdoor activity.

Canon 10X42

Protecting Canon’s finest quality L-series lenses with a robust, water-proof housing, the 10x42L IS WP binoculars provide unrivaled clarity, and stabilized field scoping performance.

The 10x42L IS WP binoculars are the first from Canon to be engraved with the hallowed red L-series ring: a mark until now reserved for Canon’s finest professional photographic lenses; the pinnacle of Canon’s heritage in precision optics design and manufacture. Raising optical performance standards, the binoculars feature 2 Ultra-low Dispersion glass (UD) lens elements on each side. Developed by Canon, these elements are effective in eliminating chromatic aberration – the rainbow-like distortion that affects lesser quality binoculars. The result is super bright, high contrast, 10x magnification viewing clarity.

To suppress vibrations caused by viewing hand-held, on moving vehicles or boats, the 10x42L IS WP binoculars include Canon’s Vari-Angle Prism (VAP) Image Stabilizer (IS). Tiny gyros detect the slightest movements, while a microprocessor controls a special prism to correct the refraction angle of incoming light.

Designed to survive the toughest outdoor conditions, the 10x42L IS WP binoculars are fully waterproof. The design incorporates a distinctive easy-grip for wet conditions, and a robust rubber coating to withstand all your adventures.

To prevent fogging on internal lens elements caused by the ingress of moisture, all exterior surfaces are treated with a special metallic coating. This works in concert with special O-rings and use of waterproof adhesives on all external contact points to prevent water molecules permeating the outside casing.

Canon 10X42

All the lens element surfaces are treated with Canon’s Super Spectra coatings. These ensure vivid high contrast images with accurate colour balance by eliminating unwanted internal reflections that cause ‘ghosting’ (secondary images) and ‘flare’ (low contrast, washed out images). The exceptionally large 4.2mm exit pupil allows a bright field of view in low light conditions.

Every aspect of the 10x42L IS WP binoculars is designed around viewing comfort. A wide 65° angle of view gets plenty of horizon into view, while a 16mm Long Eye Relief minimises vignetting (or the ‘tunnel effect’) that can affect prescription glasses wearers. A correction lock prevents unintentional dioptric correction errors, and the extending eye-cups can be rotated for customised fitting.

The 10x42L IS WP binoculars offer waterproof capability making them ideal for water activities such as yachting and fishing. The excellent brightness offered by the large 42mm lens diameters allows for great detail and clear images. The built-in Image Stabilizer eliminates hand held shake and reduces eye strain, while the soft rubber surfaces ensure a firm and secure handling.

  • L-lens quality – the very finest in precision optics
  • Optical Image Stabilizer
  • Rugged waterproof construction
  • 10x Magnification
  • Extremely large 4.2mm exit pupil
  • Anti-fog technology
