The Nikon ML-3 Modulite Infrared Remote Control Set lets you release a compatible camera’s shutter without touching the camera. Its separate transmitter and receiver communicate using an infrared LED beam over a distance of up to approximately 8m, helping you work away from a tripod-mounted camera.
The receiver connects to a compatible Nikon ten-pin remote terminal. This is the ML-3 transmitter-and-receiver system, not the smaller ML-L3 remote. Compatibility is not universal and is not limited to DSLRs: Nikon also lists the Z9 among supported models. Check your exact camera’s accessory compatibility before ordering.
Two selectable channels support remote operation, with delayed release, single-frame and continuous shooting functions. The auto-trigger function can release the shutter when a subject moves between the transmitter and receiver. Infrared operation requires appropriate line of sight and alignment; it is not a radio-frequency remote, and range depends on conditions.
